‘No sports just sex’ is what the legendary Lithuanian basketball star Arvydas Sabonis (46) will have to do for at least six months after suffering a heart attack a week ago. Sabonis was released from hospital on 4 October and will have to limit his pleasures.
“The doctors told me, ‘You can’t smoke, you can’t drink, you can’t play basketball.’ So of all the things I like, only sex is left,” Sabonis said to journalists on his way out of hospital on 4 October, lrytas.lt reported. “The doctors decided this. I’m a newcomer here so I do what I’m told,” he said.
According to the media Sabonis is to recover at home, with his condition set to be monitored for at least six months. When asked if he was planning to go to Spain for recovery he said no. ‘I now live in Lithuania constantly. Spain is the past stage,’ Vakaro Zinios quoted Sabonis. ‘After leaving hospital I will stay at home. I have Ingrida (his wife) back home, so I have a nurse’, Sabonis said.
