Siauliai volunteers are also preparing for Eurobasket 2011

The EuroBasket 2011 group B matches will take place in Siauliai from 31 August to 5 September. Teams from Latvia, Italy, Israel, Germany, Serbia and France will try their luck.

200 volunteers will work in Siauliai, undertaking various activities: accompanying the teams, contributing to the events by the arena, helping with safety, accompanying VIPs, cleaning and tidying the court.

A hundred of Siauliai volunteers have already taken part in trainings in Klaipeda and Panevezys, another hundred is waiting for a dress rehearsal which is to take place before the championship.

On 29 August, over 60 thousand basketball balls will be bounced around in six Lithuanian cities where EuroBasket matches will take place. In order to register a world record, the ball bouncing will have to continue for 5 minutes. The event will take place in: Vilnius, Upes street by the White bridge; Kaunas, by the shopping centre Mega; Klaipeda, by the Svyturio arena; Panevezys, by the Cido arena and Alytus, by the Alytus Sports House. So far, the number of fans that have registered to participate in the event is lowest in Siauliai. Registrations can be made at http://fanspace2011.com/rekordas/.

The EuroBasket 2011 will take place in Lithuania from 31 August to 18 September.
