Minimum wage in Lithuania will be EUR 290

euro, money, coins,The minimum monthly wage in Lithuania will stand at EUR 290 after the euro introduction, and the minimum hourly pay will be EUR 1.76, the country’s Ministry of Social Security and Health has calculated.

The ministry also noted that due to the rounding-up, an additional 1.3 million litas (EUR 0.376 million) will be needed per year from the state and municipal budgets for the wages of civil servants earning the minimum wage.

Now in Lithuania, the minimum monthly wage is 1,000 litas and the minimum hourly way is 6.06 litas.

Lithuania will join the eurozone on 1 January 2015.
