What Belarusian Grove murmurs, what Raganyte remembers? By Landsbergis

Once upon a time, when Giants were alive, fascists had a great rage on us because of why when travelling through Lithuania it was a must to show a passport and visa facilitation, MEP Prof. Vytautas Landsbergis wrote in Lietuvos Zinios daily on 31 May. Then there were some particularly evil actions (with a knife against the train conductor), and no less of angry words. Specialist of these actions, in his own ways was famous Russian politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who publicly threatened: we’ll build on the Lithuanian border stations, where the wind is blowing to the west, and we’ll poison all of them mucks!

Well, the time has come when no longer Vladimir Ilyich or Vladimir Volfovich, but Vladimir Vladimirovich makes the promised revenge to come true. It will blow and will sail across the rivers towards Lithuania this, what we would not want, as the red crayfish, would die from.

The world just remembered Chernobyl. On that occasion, privately published Ukrainian documentary film reminded (specialist guard story) that no one knows what comes next from beneath of not entirely extinguished reactor, as well as from the adjacent operating reactors. What and where from it is percolating? It is just not being examined. Nature will publish its own conclusions.

And in the mean time Russia has intentions to build two power plants on the Lithuanian border. Takes it like with pliers and builds them in the Astrav and Ragainė (Ragainė before the arrival of the Crusaders was called Raganytė, ((a little witch – the Lithuania Tribune))). In the Chernobyl’s background they started bed-time-stories to our kindergarten: there will be a brand new, different and unused system. You will see how safe it is.  - Thank you for that – first experimental reactors will be built here (why not Siberia?), and we, Lithuanians will be as the guinea pigs. If it come out for a better, they will be able scientifically explore us. If as usual – from the Curonian Spit will only cormorants will be left. And if something is not so good will appear at the Astrav, with regret we’ll have to evacuate almost half of million in a little town nearby Vilnius. Poles will be finished not by scary Lithuanians, but the KGB fellows Russians. Lithuanian-Russians will neither be happy, but they will be offered to curse the Belarusians.

Already I hear the cheerful voices of the Agency: Eh, why he is frightening us here, maybe there won’t happen anything! Nevertheless ‘partner’ has promised…

What will happen is that at least nobody will be prepared to invest in Vilnius or in Eastern Lithuania. How about the recreational area of forests and lakes? – You are having a laugh. Europe itself will start to retreat from the radiant Eastern border. Local Belarusians and Poles will start feeling psychological pressure and will wait no longer to start moving away from the border towards safer inner Poland. Vladimir Volfovich and other will start clapping their hands whilst watching confused awaken Lithuanians.

Moreover, the plant at Astrav will be cooled by the waters from the Neris River basin and water will be pumped some distance away and tens of meters height. (It is not a Drūkšiai Lake).Afterwards it will come back as pure as a tear of Lukashenko and will continue to migrate through Nemunas through whole Lithuania until in the end of the road it will meet with the guillotine of Raganyte. Plaice, fish of the Lagoon, you’ll swim mutated with your belly up.

But the plant of Fukushima in Japan was struck not by Chernobyl-type potboiler, but cooling-pumping system failure in exceptional circumstances. Let’s just imagine the potential failures of the future Astrav pump – the reactor overheating threat. Which sea will be used by helicopters to supply water? Finally, just one SMS messages will be enough if something wrong happens out there, that may be at risk… What potential liability will be upon Vilnius Mayor Arturas Zuokas or Victor and the entire Lithuanian government? Should we alert citizens or not? In Chernobyl case there were long delays, and it was a crime that was made by Government. Foreign representative offices in Vilnius will have to think fast, so maybe they should start thinking now.

This is only a bit of perspective, which was promised to Lithuania by Putin pliers. Can we do something?

I hear the Capitalists and the Agencies voices that we can do nothing. It is not true, we can.

First of all, the Lithuanian government and its society must decide that they are categorically against it. When it is being said that we do not like it, we are concerned – it is zero “slabin?” We are against it and we require very specific things. Has the European Union responsibly considered and accepted to trick us in? (Question to the Council). Does Russia have the right to do anything fatal in the heart of Europe – Stalin’s unilaterally annexed the land of Kaliningrad? Where are the voices of the tricked winners’ of the Second World War – United States, United Kingdom, France and Europe? Will Belarusian authorities properly explain to the beloved EU why from the number of possible plant sites (Mogilev area was suggested by the experts as being a much better and less problematic) they selected most beautiful lakes and pine forests nature – well, hell with it – at your fingertips the neighbourhood of the Lithuanian capital? If Vladimir said so, it’s not all. Lets demand it to be reviewed.

We have to understand that we defend our lives. Then we’ll realize that the government and the president have not been awakened yet, as it should be. Lukashenko’s suggestion to move Ignalina has a simple answer: build your item at the same distance from Vilnius as the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant was built from Minsk. We also have other measures, such as the 50-km zone of smuggled over the border nuclear suspension. Why are we being done in the day light?

Diplomat banters are not important, but consolidated trenches are, if you want to live. If the presidency and the government will emigrate last, it is still possible to delay it more. I think it is a must, without a delay, perhaps using Presidential Decree, to establish Lithuanian nuclear defence policy committee of the native patriot scientists and politicians. Lets equip ourselves with a responsibility shield from mockery. The news for you – the armour and weapons can be raised only if you have a solid backbone. We have this strength at the top of the Government spine, but how about the middle, abdominal level?
