Continued positive performance at ICA Sweden, and a strong recovery in Rimi Baltic, drove improved operating income at ICA during 2010, the Baltic Business News reported.

The group reported growth of 7.8% for the full year, and net sales up 0.9% (at constant exchange rates), despite an increasingly promotional competitive environment in all markets.

Kenneth Bengtsson, CEO and president of ICA AB, said: “We are very pleased with the development of ICA Sweden and Rimi Baltic during the year, at the same time that ICA Norway remains our biggest challenge.  The ICA Group’s improved operating income and a strong cash flow give us the possibility to further invest in activities that will benefit customers.”
