Lithuania was awarded with a European Union’s (EU) price for the best use of the EU support funds. Wales in UK, and Brandenburg in Germany are another EU regions awarded with Region of Excellence awards. Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius, who took part in the awards ceremony, noted to the Baltic News Service that Lithuania ranks in the second of third place in the EU in terms of use of EU funds.
