Klaipeda port awaiting record high amounts of investments

The first month of 2012 was not very productive for Klaipeda port workers, despite that they do not plan to decrease turnover. This year the Board of the port faces a challenge – record high amounts of investments, bnn-news.com reported on 9 February.

2.88 million tons of cargoes were transported through the port in January, which is by 9.4% less than for a similar period of last year. The reasons – are objective, which is why despite the results the situation is not dramatized Delfi.lt writes with reference to Vakarų ekspresas.

According to the head of Klaipeda port Eugenijus Gentvilas, 2012-2014 will be the hardest years relative to finances, because of record high amounts of investments of LTL 291 million (LVL 59.4 million).

According to projections, actual investment amounts will reach LTL 250 million (LVL 51 million). They plan to receive LTL 140 million (LVL 28.6 million) worth of investments in 2013.
