If only Bush's political opponents had implemented "obstructionist policies" like those employed against the young Obama. The World might not be in the mess that you describe. Instead, the opposing political party here in the US (known as the Democrat Party) was impotent. They just played dead for the entirety of the Bush years and allowed him to ruin what had previously been a peaceful & tranquil globe.
