Writing to bring to your attention situation in Lithuania, where latest news is that people who have been without job any month during 2009 and forward, have to pay in taxes (aprx.) 25 euros per month. Goverment implemented so called PSD (lith) Obligatory Health Tax, which applies to unemployed people who havnt been registered with local Job centre, although this wasnt obligatory by any law in the country. This means that goverment taxing people with income 0 zero. Its outregeous. Authorities in Lithuania now asking those to whom it does apply to pay outstanding taxes till may of this year, despite people in question are still jobless. Would appreciate if your organisation could step in and investigate in that matter.
