Lithuania Has Highest Fiber Penetration in Europe
According to a survey conducted by the FTTH (fiber to the home) Council Europe Lithuania has the highest fiber broadband penetration in Europe, PCWorld.com writes. The survey states that with fiber access to some 18 pct of Lithuania’s households overtook Sweden.
The table includes 15 European countries with a penetration of 1 percent or more. Sweden is followed by Norway, Slovenia, Estonia, Denmark, Slovakia, Finland, the Netherlands and Italy. European countries like France, Portugal, Czech Republic and Bulgaria are at the end this group.
However, the absolute number of FTTH subscribers is higher in Sweden, Italy and France. Still, it is a fantastic result for Lithuania. Only a question remains how this achievement is going to be used in spreading a positive message about Lithuania to the world. If the Lithuania’s image makers are not sure how to do that they should contact their colleagues in Tallinn
