Report about error

Regarding the presidency of the European Union (EU), most effort is devoted for strengthening the mission in Brussels – about 100 helpers are being sent there, Deividas Matulionis, the Chancellor of the Prime Minister, reported on Monday, writes lrytas.lt.

“Because our presidency of the EU is geared more to Brussels, the major part of the events and effort will be focused on strengthening our mission in Brussels. Therefore quite a lot of people will be sent there, nearly 100 additional people employed – that is quite a high cost “- D. Matulionis told reporters on the Monday after the government meeting.

“There are some people assigned to our office in Brussels this year, also there will be some in the beginning of next year. It is those people who will have a maximum load of the Presidency “, – he said.

According to D. Matulionis, a significant proportion of the 214 million LTL appointed for the EU Presidency, will be appointed to events regarding the organization of the Council of the EU in Lithuania as well as in Brussels.

Lithuania will chair the EU for half a year from July 1 2013.
