„Maxima“, „Omnitel“ and A. Zuokas most active in social media

Companies that use social media most actively are ‘Maxima LT’, ‘Omnitel’, and ‘Swedbank’, according to new research presented by ISM University of Management and Economics and mayor of Vilnius city Artūras Zuokas, Diena.lt repored.

The research, compiled by public relations agency ‘Communication Consultants,’ analyzed activity on websites, blogs, and social networks in five industries: retail, telecommunications, banks, politics and institutions of higher education.

This year, the Baltic States’ largest retail chain, ‘Maxima,’ received 56,41 points; followed by ‘Rimi’ with 54,44 points; and ‘Norfa’ and ‘Iki’ received 49,95 and 21,91 points respectively.

Among telecommunications companies the most active in social media was the ‘Omnitel’ company with 80,18 points; ‘Tele2’ had 61,55 points; ‘Bitė’ received 53,23; and ‘Teo LT’ with 17,56 points.

The most active among banks were ‘Swedbank’, receiving 69,3 points; SEB bank earned 53,74 points; and ‘Bigbank’ earned 46,83 points.

In terms of institutions of higher education, ISM University of Management and Economics received 62,01 point; Vilnius university garnered 57,87; and Kaunas university of technology received 51,73 points.

In the political arena, the most active politician this year was the mayor of Vilnius city A. Zuokas, who received 70,91 points. He was followed by President Dalia Grybauskaitė with 47,59 points, and the Minister of Justice Remigijus Šimašius with 44,72 points.

The team of experts involved in the Communication Consultants research included: Džiugas Paršonis, Artūras Račas, Liutauras Ulevičius, Gediminas Gasiulis, Mindaugas Jackevičius, Tadas Jackus, Nerijus Petrauskas and Aris Meškauskas.
