Conservatives seek to participate in shaping the Government after parliamentary elections

The Minister of National Defense and one of the leaders of Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrat Political Group, Rasa Jukneviciene says that Conservatives will definitely take part in forming the government after parliamentary elections, lrytas.lt portal reported on 30 July.

The politician is convinced of success.

“Conservatives are going to be much more successful than media is trying to picture. We will do everything in our power. Then, we will see who get’s elected, but we will definitely take part in shaping the Government “- R. Juknevičienė told to newspaper Lietuvos Zinios during an interview.

Recent results of public surveys predicts success to Minority political groups – Labor Party (approximately 17% of the votes), Lithuanian Social Democratic Party Political Group (13% of the votes), Order and Justice Political Group (approximately 9% of the votes). Currently Conservatives are to take the 4th place with 7 to 8 percent of estimated future votes.

“I do not classify parties to better or worse.” – said the Minister after asked about possibility to form a coalition with the Labor Party, accused of fraudulent accounting – avoiding to pay 4 million Litas, or Order and Justice Political Group, led by Rolandas Paksas, who had to leave President’s office after impeachment.

Parliamentary elections will take place on October 14, 2012.
