Delegation of Japanese business executives are exploring possibilities of freight transit through Lithuania’s Klaipėda seaport, lrytas.lt reports.
On Tuesday, Vice Minister of Transport, Arūnas Štaras presented Lithuanian transportation system and logistics capabilities to the visitors.
Japanese delegation represented transport, trade and insurance corporations: K Line, Mitsubishi Electric Europe, Mitsui & Co. Moscow LLC, Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance, Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisya as well as leaders from Japanes Foreign Trade Organization.
After the meeting at the Ministry, guests visited Kena and Šalcininkai border checkpoints and Kaunas Free Economic Zone.
Next on the agenda, short trip to Klaipeda – to see the freight transportation capacities of the seaport and the container train Vikingas, and to get familiar with border checkpoint and Klaipeda Free Economic Zone.
