Twenty-one students from the U.S. and Canadian Universities have chosen to do an internship in Lithuania. According to the manager of the Lithuanian emigrant internship programme, which is organized together with Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) for the third time, there are plenty of those who wish to work and gain knowledge during their holiday time, informs lrt.lt.
Students from the U.S. and Canadian Universities will spend one and a half month in Lithuania. They will do internships in hospitals, ministries, banks, science and art institutions, as well as in the Lithuanian radio and television.
This year twenty-one student is involved in the Lithuanian emigrant student internship programme. Many of them say that they intend to travel around Lithuania, and the rest will learn Lithuanian in Kaunas.
For the third time the forthcoming VMU internship programme is sponsored by the United States Lithuanian community. VMU Lithuanian students will do internships in the U.S. and Canada.
“This is the chance to get to know each other, learn about the regions, cultures, political systems, histories, values and the meanings people give to such acquaintances,” Auksė Balčytienė, the PR vice-chancellor of the VMU, told about the project.
By completing their internships students will gain five academic credits that will be recognized by the U.S. and Canadian Universities.
