Two new companies started business in Vilnius International Airport this year – internet café and an optics shop. Nonetheless, the airport promises to offer more premises for business, delfi.lt reports on 16 March.

Internet Café “Netas LT” is already offering internet access in three places and optics shop “Optic city” is located in a sterile terminal’s departure area. “They have settled in and are operational already”, – says Sandra Šiaulienė, airport’s public relations manager.

In the near future, the airport promises to prepare a new contest, which should interest service providers. According to S.Šiaulienė, cafes, restaurants and shops are among priorities.

Seeks new clients

Airports newcomers are pleased with investments in these good strategic locations and hope to attract more clients as number of flights increases.

“Optic city”, which has a store in Gediminas Avenue and another in the airport, has grown because of recovering tourist flows, said manager of the firm Ieva Svitojūtė.

“Netas LT” manager Žydrūnas Šalčius believes there is a new demand for company’s services in the airport.

“Similar services are provided in airports all over the world, which is why we think our work here is going to be successful. We have three cafes in the airport: one in a neutral zone, one in a zone for people arriving from the Schengen countries and one for arrivals from other countries. Services are useful, for example, if someone forgets to print flight tickets, so they can do it here”, – claimed Ž.Šalčius.

At this time Vilnius International Airport provides luggage packing, car parking and renting, wireless internet services. In addition, there are shops for flowers, cosmetics, watches, mobile phones, sweets, alcoholic beverages, and souvenirs as well as some restaurants and cafes.
